Founding writer

A gifted writer, grounded in Scripture

Betty Jo Hardy was a gifted, award-winning writer whose work included newspaper columns, news writing, inspirational writing, and decades of Scripture-centered encouragement. Her devotional writings form the founding archive of From the Throne.

She lived in Jackson, Alabama, where she was active at First Baptist Church. She wrote columns and news for four state newspapers and received three awards from state associations.

Betty Jo also authored the inspirational book His Children’s Children. Her life of service included volunteering with ministries devoted to biblical preaching and with Hospice of Highland Rim.

Betty Jo died on December 9, 2021. Her devotional ministry is being preserved through this archive and continued through new writings by Anne Barkley.
