“But You, O LORD are a shield about me, my glory, And the lifter of my head.” (Psalm 3: 3) Today, I share a personal story of my battle from the unseen realm of darkness—from the deadly bioweapon against humanity as an assault against life and breath. Many of you have already experienced this battle or had a loved one who has. Betty Jo’s sweet Amy shared her story having battled the virus twice! She was aware that Tommy and I had entered the battle but this is the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say. Tommy and I had the best of treatment from our wonderful doctor who gave us ivermectin, antibiotic and steroids. Tommy recovered but my breathing was labored and on Friday was a week ago was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. My doctor stepped up the treatment and added the nebulizer breathing treatments. I could so identify with Betty Jo who struggled for breath for years. After a weekend of trying to maintain oxygen of 90, my doctor sent me to the ER. It was there that I learned the severity of the attack upon life itself as I learned that COVID interferes with the absorption of oxygen into the blood. Hence, the attack was two-fold against God’s creation as life is in the blood and God breathed into man the breath of life. As I heard these front-line workers’ own personal stories of survival from the virus, I saw their faith and commitment to save lives. These are people continually seeking answers of how to overcome this unseen enemy. I had a staff doctor come and ask why I was opposed to the CDC recommended drug remdesivir. She listened with an open mind as I related the research I had done from their own website and linked to NIH and a study that indicated that over 50% of the patients who were given the drug resulted in renal failure which essentially caused them to drown in their own body fluids while immobile on a vent. I knew that God had given me that information and brought me to someone who could make a difference in patient outcome. God sent the hospital PA to discuss the vitamins and supplements that I had been on for years that had prevented me from contracting the virus for two years! She said God was directing her to discover His health and healing for patients to compliment the medical field. She is indeed a God-connection that will continue. God sent a precious Christian girl who had recently recovered from COVID as my tech and was like a ray of sunshine and wore a necklace with the words of Nehemiah 8:10—“The joy of the LORD is my strength!” I saw God’s miracles all around me and I was sent home after one night with oxygen all the time and am improving daily. I knew from the beginning that this was a spiritual attack from the enemy to bring oppression, hopelessness, depression and to prevent me from leading two Bible study groups. However, I knew that God had allowed it and that He would use it for His glory. He brought verses to my mind to encourage me. He gave me Psalm 3:3 “But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, And the lifter of my head.” He gave me a picture of His lifting up my chin. The natural posture of depression and sorrow is to lower our head. God has the ability to lift up our head. He will come to our rescue. God is our shield. Our enemy is fierce. He is strong. But the LORD promises us that He is our shield of defense! We may be surrounded by a godless culture (this present darkness), we may be bombarded by temptation, tested by trials and pressed by the enemy whose sole objective is to steal, kill and destroy. BUT THE LORD is a shield about us! He protects us from every side—above, around and beneath! The LORD is our glory! David is acknowledging that all he has comes from the LORD—God is our Source and worthy of every honor and glory! He knows how to rescue His children! “My Glory” is God’s Name, His reputation is on the line. He will come through and He will show us His Glory! It is in the dark seasons of our life that scripture comes alive to us and reveals God’s great faithfulness! Today, I read the message from the LORD from Amanda Grace who like Betty Jo is attuned to God’s voice. These were exactly the words God spoke to me through my darkest hours: “And says the Spirit of the Lord this day I am with you My Children, always even until the end of the age. I the Lord your God am breathing a breath of fresh air into your lives, the enemy has released an attack, a potent one of depression and hopelessness and tormenting thoughts; however, I the Lord God am your Shield your Glory and the Lifter of your head! Fast and pray and it shall lose its power and retreat says the Lord of Hosts this day. The enemy is attempting to weary many through this and tire them out to a point of exhaustion, however, I the Lord God am the giver of Life and I shall refresh and renew and blow that depressive fog from your mind as you continue to PRESS and persevere on such a path, the enemy has attempted to slow you down, but just as Elijah was given a special cake to refresh him that caused him to run faster than a chariot, so I the Lord in his hour am refreshing you My Children, I am filling you with My power, strength, Authority, and sharpness of Mind and speech that you shall see things accelerate and burst forth giving you strength and endurance to run this next leg of your race.” God brought me to Acts 17: 24-28 today as a reminder that God made the world and all things and is the Lord of heaven and earth—He gives to all life, and breath, and all things—He gave blood to all men and determined the times before appointed—Oh that we would see the Lord as He is not far from each of us—for in Him we live, and move, and have our being—We are His offspring in Christ Jesus! Psalm 5:11 says, “But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love Your Name may exult in You.” Let all who has breath praise the LORD! Let us look to Him, call on Him and trust Him with all our heart! May all praise and glory be to Him who does all things well! Thank you for so many of you who have prayed for me and continue to pray for my healing. These are indeed times that we need to pray fervently for one another, reach out in love and caring and drawn near to God. His plan is perfect and He will prevail!
